Asim moves into World Junior second round
KARACHI: Asim Khan moved into the second round of the Men’s & Women’s World Junior Individual Squash championships at Wanderers Sports Club, Windhoek, Namibia, on Sunday.
Unseeded Asim defeated James Peach of England 11-7, 11-7, 11-7 in 38 minutes in the first round.
He is to face Bernat Jaume of Spain.
Meanwhile, the other three players of the country got bye in the first round.
In the second round, on Monday (today), Israr Ahmed will face Enzo Corigliano of France and Tayyab Aslam will play against Jarryd Osborne of Canada.
Ali Bukhari will face the winner of a match between Jami Aijanen of Finland and Junior Alejandro of Guatemala.
After playing the individual events, the team will play the Men’s World Junior Team championship from August 16.
